Metal filings in the clear coat of your car can come from a few different places. It can come from metal pieces flying off your brakes, or it can come from rail dust. Either way, it could be difficult to get rid of the tiny metal filings. At J & J Auto Sales in Troy, NY, we are always looking for ways to make our customer's life's easier and their cars more beautiful. That's why we want to give you a better idea of how to use a clay bar.

If you have tiny specks of rust on the side of your car and noticed that it's not smooth, you probably have brake dust in your clear coat. You can get rid of this fairly simply by using a clay bar.

All you have to do is wash your vehicle, spray on the liquid that comes with the clay bar kit, use some elbow grease to manually pull up the metal filings on your car with the clay.
